Kalium, the new synonym for "Culture & Art Prints"

Katia – Kaliums Print Designer

I graduated with a Master’s in Fashion Design in 2015. Since then, I’ve worked in the fashion industry, and in 2021, I had the wonderful opportunity to merge my passion for painting with design as a textile print designer in BoldDesign studio. In several jobs in the textil industry, I worked with well known luxury brands, but also with small start-up brands. This journey has fueled my desire to bring unique and impactful prints to a wider audience through Kalium.

For me, cultures and art are such a blessing in life. They reflect the history and traditions of a geographical group of people. I’m a Portuguese bilingual who grew up in a multicultural place in Germany, admired by the stories about different countries from my colleagues and family. As a grown up I had the opportunity to work in multicultural places, where I found friends from all over the world (yes, I can also ask them for advice, not feeling alone in this freelancer life). And art is my therapy and way to flow through history and life.

About Kalium

Kalium, is Katias freelancer print design project. Between 2017 and 2020 it was a sustainable fashion brand, but covid came to make a break and think about what it really should be.

Now, through Kalium, Katia creates for slow fashion brands, unique Culture and contemporary art driven prints. They tell the brands and/or collection meaningful story about a life philosophy, a culture’s tradition, a dream trip or even a cause you are fighting for. Let me know what you want to communicate through your next collection! It’s my goal to turn it into the visual key in your collection.
